Official Rules

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION: No purchase necessary. The Grad Bash 2019 Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) begins at 8:00 a.m. PT on May 17, 2019 and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on June 7, 2019 (“Sweepstakes Period”). All times in the Sweepstakes Period refer to Pacific Time (“PT”). Sweepstakes is open only to Grad Bash attending who are sixteen (16) years of age or older at the time of entry. PRIZE DOES NOT INCLUDE GROUND OR AIR TRANSPORTATION, PARKING, OR HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS.
ELIGIBILITY: Open only to permanent, legal U.S. and D.C. (including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico) residents who are sixteen (16) years of age or older at the time of entry. Officers, directors, and employees of Sweepstakes Entities, members of these persons’ immediate families (spouses and/or parents, children, and siblings, and their spouses), and/or persons living in the same households as such persons (whether related or not) are ineligible to enter the Sweepstakes. Sweepstakes Entities, as referenced herein, shall include Sponsor and their respective parent, subsidiary, and affiliate companies and administrative, advertising, and promotion agencies and any other entity involved in the development, administration, promotion, or implementation of the Sweepstakes.
TO ENTER: The Sweepstakes will consist of ten (10) individual daily drawing (each a “Daily Drawing”). Each Daily Drawing will consist of (i) an entry period (a “Daily Entry Period”) that will begin at a specified time (each a “Daily Entry Period Start Time”) as detailed in the chart below and will end at a specified time (each a “Daily Entry Period End Time”) as detailed in the chart below and (ii) a random Daily Drawing conducted on the weekly drawing date (“Daily Drawing Date”) specified in the chart below from among all eligible Entries (defined below) received during such Daily Entry Period. Entries must be received before the end of the Daily Entry Period to be eligible for the corresponding Daily Drawing. There will be a total of sixty (60) Winners (defined below) selected throughout the Sweepstakes Period.
To enter the Sweepstakes, during the Sweepstakes Period users can enter by publicly posting a picture of them at the Grad Bash event using both # and @unistudios (both the hashtag and the social handle must be used in the post and privacy set to “Public”) on Twitter & Instagram – multiple entries are allowed per Daily Entry Period regardless of the number of social networks they post on. Entries must be received by the Daily Entry Period End Time to be eligible for the Daily Drawing.

To enter any Sweepstakes via Twitter & Instagram, you must have a valid public Twitter & Instagram account and upload a qualifying photo or video during the Entry Period containing appropriate descriptive text along with the hashtag provided in the Sweepstakes announcement. The official Universal Studios Hollywood Twitter and Instagram accounts are located at the following addresses: www.twitter.com/unistudios and www.Instagram.com/unistudios respectively. All entries shall comply with the Instagram Terms of Use and Universal Terms of Use. Universal shall be permitted to post your entry on the Universal Facebook page, Twitter page, and Instagram. All entries become the property of Universal and will not be acknowledged. If you do not have an Instagram account, visit www.Twitter.com or www.Instagram.com and sign up in accordance with the registration instructions for a free Instagram account. Universal Instagram Sweepstakes winners will be notified by Instagram private message. Instagram may require you to respond to an authorization request if you are not already following the Universal Instagram channel. It is your obligation to ensure that your Instagram account is configured to receive private messages from the Universal Instagram account.
You may enter multiple times per Daily Entry Period during the entire Sweepstakes Period. Non-winning Entries will not roll over into the subsequent Daily Entry Period. Your method of entry shall be as provided for in the Sweepstakes announcement, or if no method is described in such announcement, based upon the default instructions for each applicable social media channel as outlined below. No other method of entry will be accepted. Limit one (1) entry per person per Weekly Drawing, regardless of method of entry. Additional entries beyond the specified limit will be void.
ENTRY AND TIMING: Universal’s computer is the official time-keeping device for all Sweepstakes. Universal reserves the right to remove and/or disqualify any post/comment that is offensive, inappropriate, obscene, slanderous, or otherwise in conflict with the applicable social media platform terms and conditions or Universal’s Terms of Use . Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email account or social media account. Entries from social media accounts associated with businesses, organizations or groups, as well as bulk or listserv accounts are not permitted. Any attempt by any entrant to obtain more than a single entry by using multiple/different social media accounts, email accounts, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that entrant’s entries and that entrant may be disqualified. Entries that are generated by a script, macro, or use of any other automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the email account used to register will be deemed to be the registrant or player. For entries via Instagram, “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to each account by Instagram. Universal reserves the right to deem that the entry was made by the registered subscriber of the account at the time of entry. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION: On each Weekly Drawing Date, the potential winner of the applicable giveaway will be selected by random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the applicable Weekly Entry Period. Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Rules, the potential winner will be declared the official winner of the applicable Sweepstakes. The decisions of Universal are final and binding on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received for the applicable Weekly Entry Period. Limit one (1) Prize per person, family or household per Sweepstakes. The potential winner will be notified via private message on the applicable social channel. Potential winners are responsible for ensuring that their social media accounts are configured to receive private messages from each applicable Universal social channel. Potential winners may be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, release of liability, and, except where prohibited, publicity release (collectively, “Sweepstakes Documents”) prior to accepting their prize. Noncompliance within this time period, with these Official Rules or the return of or inability to deliver any prize/prize notification may result in disqualification at Universal’s discretion. In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, or if winner cannot be reached or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, Universal will award the applicable prize to an alternate winner by random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries. Only one (1) alternate drawing will be held after which the prize(s) will remain un-awarded.
PRIZES: There will be one (1) prize (“Prize”) awarded to ten (10) winners (“Winner” or “Winners”) during each Daily Entry Period, the Prize consisting of the following: One (1) meet and greet for the Winner and a guest with the artist performing at Grad Bash at Universal Studios Hollywood on the same date as Winners’ attendance. Winners may not substitute their meet and greet for a different date. Artists will be performing at Grad Bash during the following Eligible Dates (“Eligible Dates”):

The Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of each Prize is $0.00. Estimated Retail Value (“ERV”) of all Prizes is zero dollars ($0.00). Exact Prize details shall be determined in the sole and absolute discretion of Universal. Prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable, with no cash redemptions except at Universal’s sole and absolute discretion. Universal reserves the right to substitute any Prize (or any portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value at its sole and absolute discretion. Each Winner is fully responsible for any and all applicable federal, provincial, state and local taxes (including income and withholding taxes). All costs and expenses associated with the Prize acceptance and use not specified by the official social media accounts as being provided, including but not limited to lodging, transportation costs, meals, gratuities and other expenses incurred by accepting the Prize are the sole responsibility of the Winner.
CONDITIONS: By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees for entrant and for entrant’s heirs, executors, and administrators: (a) to release and hold harmless Sweepstakes Entities and their respective officers, directors, and employees (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from such entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of Prize or any portion thereof; (b) to indemnify Released Parties from any and all liability resulting or arising from the Sweepstakes and to hereby acknowledge that Released Parties have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to Prize, including express warranties provided exclusively by Prize supplier that are sent along with Prize; (c) if selected as a Winner, to the posting of such entrant’s name on www.twitter.com/unistudios or www.instagram.com/unistudios and the use by Released Parties of such name, voice, image, and/or likeness for publicity, promotional, and advertising purposes without additional compensation, and, upon request, to the giving of consent, in writing, to such use; and (d) to be bound by these Official Rules and to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error therein or in the Sweepstakes itself, and to be bound by all actions of the Sponsors, whose decisions are binding and final. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes.
ADDITIONAL TERMS: Sponsors reserve the right to permanently disqualify from any promotion any person they believe has intentionally violated these Official Rules. Any attempt to deliberately damage the Sweepstakes or the operation thereof is unlawful and subject to legal action by Sponsors, who may seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. The failure of Sponsors to comply with any provision of these Official Rules due to an act of God, hurricane, war, fire, riot, earthquake, terrorism, act of public enemies, actions of governmental authorities outside of the control of Sponsors (excepting compliance with applicable codes and regulations), or other “force majeure” event will not be considered a breach of these Official Rules. Released Parties assume no responsibility for any injury or damage to entrants’ or to any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from entering or downloading materials or software in connection with the Sweepstakes. Released Parties are not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical, or computer failures of any kind; for inaccurate transcription of entry information; for errors in any promotional or marketing materials or in these Official Rules; for any human or electronic error; or for entries that are stolen, misdirected, garbled, delayed, lost, late, damaged, or returned. Sponsors reserve the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes or any element thereof (including, without limitation, these Official Rules) without notice in any manner and for any reason (including, without limitation, in the event of any unanticipated occurrence that is not fully addressed in these Official Rules). In the event of cancellation, modification, or suspension, Sponsors reserve the right to select Winners in a random drawing from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received at the time of the event warranting such cancellation, modification, or suspension. Notice of such cancellation, modification, or suspension will be posted at www.twitter.com/unistudios. Sponsors may prohibit any entrant or potential entrant from participating in the Sweepstakes, if such entrant or potential entrant shows a disregard for these Official Rules or acts 1) with an intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other entrant, Sponsors, or Sponsors’ agents or representatives; or 2) in any other disruptive manner (as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion).
DISPUTES: The Sweepstakes is governed by, and will be construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, excluding its conflicts of law rules, and the forum and venue for any dispute shall be in Los Angeles, California. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising from or relating to the Sweepstakes shall be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by JAMS in accordance with its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures or subsequent versions thereof (“JAMS Rules”). The JAMS Rules for selection of an arbitrator shall be followed, except that the arbitrator shall be experienced and licensed to practice law in Los Angeles, California. All proceedings brought pursuant to this paragraph will be conducted in the County of Los Angeles, California. THE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL DAMAGES, AND IN NO EVENT SHALL ANY PARTY BE ENTITLED TO RECOVER INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES OR OTHER SUCH RELATED COSTS OF BRINGING A CLAIM, OR TO SEEK INJUNCTIVE OR ANY OTHER EQUITABLE RELIEF. ANY AND ALL DISPUTES, CLAIMS AND CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SWEEPSTAKES, OR ANY PRIZE AWARDED, MUST BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION OR CLASS ARBITRATION. ENTRANT WAIVES ANY RIGHT TO BRING CLAIMS AS A REPRESENTATIVE OR AS A MEMBER OF A CLASS OR IN A PRIVATE ATTORNEY GENERAL CAPACITY.
